Where we make a difference
High-impact locations are relatively affordable neighborhoods particularly vulnerable to rapidly rising housing costs. Growing up in affordable communities where quality services are available increases the likelihood of attending college and achieving higher lifetime earnings.5

Our impact on communities
We acquire, manage and invest in properties that, thanks to our model, we can bring to market at affordable rental rates—even as demand increases. The Washington Housing Initiative will preserve or build more than 3,000 units of affordable workforce housing in the Washington, DC region over the next decade.
